2021
In 2021, we joined forces to support communities and organizations, in addition to promoting social leadership.
Created in 1997 with the mission of contributing to local and human development, the André and Lucia Maggi Foundation (FALM) is a non-profit social organization responsible for managing the Private Social Investment (ISP) of AMAGGI, the largest Brazilian grain company. and fibers, headquartered in Cuiabá (MT), present in all regions of Brazil and with units and offices abroad.
Our work is focused on strengthening social leadership as a way to contribute to the development of communities where AMAGGI maintains operations. We act in line with the company’s Global Positioning on Sustainability and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the United Nations (UN).
At that time, our objective was to raise funds to construct the Renato Sucupira Hospital in Sapezal (MT).
Our first projects were our soy-based beverage plant, the ballet workshops and the choir for children and teenagers in Rondonópolis (MT).
We started the Public Selection of Projects (SPP) and the Support Program for Social Institutions (PAIS) through public notices.
The city of Rondonópolis received our first shared cultural space. Soon after, it was the turn of the municipality of Itacoatiara, in the state of Amazonas, to be contemplated.
We carried out the first technical training activity for social institutions. Starting in 2010, we started supporting projects aligned with the Millennium Development Goals, a UN global agenda
We became André and Lucia Maggi Foundation, including the name of the family’s matriarch that influenced the history of AMAGGI and the Foundation. We also created a new project portfolio for the Foundation.
We carried out the last edition of the Public Selection of Projects and started the projects “Transform” and “Strengthen”.
We completed 20 years of contribution to local and human development.
We held the first edition of the André and Lucia Maggi Award, which recognizes institutions that work for the social development of their communities.
We carried out our second strategic review. Based on it, we created a new portfolio focused on promoting social leadership, implemented our Project Office (based on the PMO Value Ring Methodology) and prepared a Plan of challenging goals to be achieved by 2025.
Given the covid-19 pandemic, we paused the scheduled activities to serve the population in the states of Mato Grosso, Rondônia and Amazonas with the distribution of basic food baskets through the “One for All and All Against Covid-19 Fund″.
We created the Foundation Incentives – More than 40 projects by Organizations and Social Initiatives linked to the areas of Health, Social Protection and Education were awarded financial and technical support to develop locally and socially the municipalities in the states of Mato Grosso, Rondônia and Amazonas.
We focus our activities on developing and strengthening local capacities through work with social organizations and municipal councils.
In 2022, we implemented the new Foundation’s design, based on the creation of the Growing with the Locality Program and the redesign of our Theory of Change, which resulted in our Institutional Positioning. The new Program is divided into four initiatives: Family Farming, Professional Qualification and Employability, Entrepreneurship, and Strengthening of Social Organizations.
The Foundation’s Theory of Change defines the impact we want to cause with our actions, focusing on the long-term vision. It provides us with clarity on the paths we need to follow to achieve our Mission and Vision of contributing to the local development of the communities where we operate.
Contribute to local and human development.
Transform people and communities for sustainable development.
